Halloween

In light of the fact that Halloween is on Monday, I wanted to say eat lots of candy all at once! It is actually better for your teeth to gorge on candy in one sitting than to nibble throughout the day. Why? Your saliva will naturally neutralize the sugar/acid in about an hour. But, if you leave your teeth to bathe in the enamel-corroding acid, your saliva won't be enough to wash it away.

Easy Ways to Prolong Your Life

In an article written by Dr. Oz, he explained that there are six easy ways to prolong your life. According to the Healthy Living on Shine article, one of the six ways is to floss! Dr. Oz explains that if you do not floss, bacteria hiding between your teeth will infect your gums, causing gum disease, and even enter your bloodstream. This causes inflammation in your arteries and contributes to plaque buildup on blood vessel walls. As we have written in the past, studies show that there is a link between gum disease and other serious diseases such as respiratory infections and neurodegeneration. For the proper flossing technique, please visit our flossing instructions page. The other five ways to prolong your life were to get up every hour, eat an egg, take chromium, do a self-massage and check your pulse.
