In an article written by Dr. Oz, he explained that there are six easy ways to prolong your life. According to the Healthy Living on Shine article, one of the six ways is to floss! Dr. Oz explains that if you do not floss, bacteria hiding between your teeth will infect your gums, causing gum disease, and even enter your bloodstream. This causes inflammation in your arteries and contributes to plaque buildup on blood vessel walls. As we have written in the past, studies show that there is a link between gum disease and other serious diseases such as respiratory infections and neurodegeneration.
